I have to say I love each season and when one is coming to an end I look forward to the next one arriving. Although still wearing wooly jumpers, the evenings are getting longer, daffodils are starting to peep out of the ground and we have had some lovely sunny days which to me herald the start of Spring. It is so nice to shake off Winter in your home too at this time of year and let your home know that Spring has arrived.
Nothing spells Spring like fresh flowers and floral prints so bring the outside in. Pick early daffodils or buy some colourful fresh flowers for your home. It will add a lovely splash of spring colour and will lift your mood.
I loved the lovely sunny flowers in the above images. You can be imaginative with how your display them and as the second image shows every a plate of granny smith apples on display with add a lovely punch of colour.
Fresh flowers can brighten up your office too and we loved this idea for holding paper clips and bits and pieces on your desk. Who knew the humble egg cup could be so versatile!!!
Floral cushions and fabric is another way to bring the outside in and with all give that lovely Spring feeling.
Bring In Spring Colours With Accessories & Paint
Spring brings to mind lovely aqua and pastel colours such as duck egg blue and light purple. Add these to your kitchen with accessories or even take an afternoon to change the colour of one wall to welcome the season.
I loved the pastel accessories used in this gorgeous kitchen and the lovely purple wall in the second image gives the room an almost retro vibe.
The above bedrooms have had a Spring makeover with lovely aqua and pastel coloured bed linen. It’s as easy as that. I also love the lime green in the hall. It’s a really nice idea if you have very neutral colours on all of your walls to go a bit mad in the hall leading to the rooms.
Don’t neglect the bathroom. Remember you can put fresh flowers and lovely Spring inspired accessories in there too.
Decorate Your Home
We put so much effort into decorating our home for Christmas, why not put a small bit of effort into decorating for other seasons too. We love the current offerings from Birchcraft which just came in to The Home Barn this week and they tick all the boxes with lovely pastel and floral designs.
Until next time, enjoy each season
